Product Description

Produced by cold drawing or cold rolling from stainless steel coil or billet, followed by annealing and pickling to ensure excellent corrosion resistance and uniform mechanical properties. Available shapes: round, square, rectangular. Grades: 201, 304, 304L, 316L, 321, 409, 430. Outer diameter (round): 6mm – 1016mm. Wall thickness: 0.5mm – 20mm. Square/rectangular sizes: 10×10 – 400×400mm; custom profiles available. Surface finishes: annealed & pickled (No.1), bright annealed (2B), polished (No.4, 180–600 grit), mirror (BA). Length: 3m – 12m or custom. End finish: plain, beveled, threaded, or grooved. Manufacturing process: seamless (cold drawn) or welded (TIG, plasma, ERW) with optional post-weld annealing. Strict tolerance on OD, wall thickness, and straightness. Meets ASTM A312, A269, JIS G3459, EN 10217-7, or GB/T 14976 standards.

Widely used in fluid transport (water, oil, gas, chemicals), food & beverage processing lines, pharmaceutical plants, heat exchangers, boilers, automotive exhaust systems, structural handrails, furniture frames, and marine equipment. The corrosion resistance and hygiene make it suitable for sanitary, high-purity, and outdoor environments.

Production description

Seamless pipes: Stainless steel billet is heated and pierced to form a hollow shell, then cold drawn or cold rolled over a mandrel to achieve precise OD and wall thickness. Multiple passes with intermediate annealing and pickling ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

Welded pipes: Stainless steel coil is slit to required width, roll-formed into tubular shape, and welded longitudinally by TIG, plasma, or ERW. The weld seam may be heat treated (post-weld annealing) to restore corrosion resistance. The tube is then sized, straightened, and cut to length.

Both processes may include polishing, bright annealing, or pickling for final surface finish. Finished tubes are inspected for OD, wall thickness, straightness, and surface defects, then packed for shipment.

Shipping Packaging

For export, stainless steel pipes are bundled with interleaved paper or plastic caps on ends, wrapped in VCI paper and moisture-proof polyethylene, packed in wooden crates or on ISPM-15 pallets, secured with steel straps, and fitted with edge protectors. Labels include grade, dimensions, quantity, and heat number for safe sea freight.

FAQ

1. How to store stainless steel pipes to prevent pitting corrosion?
Store indoors on dry racks with plastic or rubber supports. Keep away from chlorides, carbon steel, and wet environments. For long-term storage, keep original end caps and wrapping intact.

2. Can stainless steel pipes be bent or threaded without cracking?
Yes. Use proper mandrel bending for tight radii and annealed condition for heavy forming. Threading is possible for schedules 5S–40S; use sharp dies and cutting oil to avoid galling.

3. Seamless vs welded – which should I choose?
Seamless offers higher pressure rating and uniform structure, ideal for high-pressure gas/oil or sanitary systems. Welded is cost-effective, available in longer lengths, and suitable for general fluid transport and structural use.
